Positive Leadership for Active Alaska Youth
PLAAY (an initiative of the Alaska Sports Hall of Fame) is currently inactive. Starting in 2017, the goal of PLAAY Day was to get as many youth exercising simultaneously to kick start a healthy & fun lifestyle. This also was to encourage schools to participate in our year-round Healthy Futures program that empowers youth to build the habit of daily physical activity. The objective of the PLAAY Summit was to provide those in youth leadership positions in our state with more resources. The PLAAY Summit emphasized the importance of physical activity as a means to improving teenage health. The conference focused on psychological and social-emotional development, and the creation of opportunities for education and training of adult leaders who work with children.
