Job Description
Job Title: Healthy Futures Matanuska Susitna Borough Program Coordinator (Half-Time) General Information: Healthy Futures – the signature program of the Alaska Sports Hall of Fame – is a statewide initiative working to empower Alaska’s youth to build the habit of daily physical activity.

Job Responsibilities: The Healthy Futures Program Coordinator is responsible for managing
aspects of the day-to-day activities of the Healthy Futures Game Changer and Kicks For Kids program in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough (MSB). All positions at the Alaska Sports Hall of Fame may have responsibilities altered during the course of employment due to organizational imperatives.

Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Website maintenance skills preferred.
• Must live in the Matanuska Susitna Borough (office is in Wasilla). Job is primarily onsite with ability to do tasks remotely as able.
• Must be able to work independently, meet deadlines without supervision, and be able to participate in occasional meetings and events outside of normal business hours.
• Must have the ability to travel to various events and locations regularly and in a timely manner.

Supervision: Reports to the Alaska Sports Hall of Fame Executive Director.

Program-Specific Responsibilities:
Healthy Futures Game Changer Fund
• Promote Game Changer Fund to recruit potential MSB funders, donors, and recipients
• Manage inventory and distributions of MSB Kicks for Kids donations
• Act as liaison with MSB community partners to nurture professional relationships and identify potential beneficiaries
• Act as point of contact for potential MSB funders, donors, and recipients
• Coordinate MSB-based volunteer support as needed
• Gather and organize MSB-based program data to assist Healthy Futures Program Coordinator with semi-annual Game Changer fund reports
• Travel by vehicle for face-to-face interactions with community partners and beneficiaries

Other Program Duties as Available
• Provide support to MSB elementary schools participating in the Healthy Futures Activity Log Challenge
• Provide support in distributing MSB incentive requests through established distribution channels
• Provide support to MSB race directors and events coordinators registered to receive \ Healthy Futures Event Support
• Coordinate volunteer support for MSB Healthy Futures Challenge schools or MSB events receiving Healthy Futures Event Support
• Assist Healthy Futures Program Coordinator in gathering and maintaining data for semi-annual Healthy Futures Challenge and Healthy Futures Event Support reports
• Support Healthy Futures staff members with other duties as assigned when available Other General Responsibilities may include:
• Fundraising & Communications
• Design and write program printed materials
• Represent Healthy Futures at community and school events
• Support the Healthy Futures Development Director in writing bids and submitting grant proposals
• Advocate for funding from businesses and organizations (i.e. school boards, assemblies, legislative bodies) for programming aimed at helping MSB youth build healthier, more active lifestyles

Planning & Budgeting
• Determine programming needs and provide feedback for budget
• Make budget recommendations to Executive Director

Contracts Administration
• Provide daily governance and oversight of the identified deliverables within current
contracts and grants
• Provide information to support progress reports and project evaluations

Program Administration
• Provide constructive feedback to the Healthy Futures team to ensure ongoing management, development and improvement of effective programming
• Maintain health equity as a program priority
• Provide analysis of program data
• Contribute to a positive, solution-focused workplace culture by working collaboratively with the Healthy Futures team
• Provide support to other Alaska Sports Hall of Fame programs and functions when available

Wage and Benefits: Wage is competitive and commensurate with experience and
qualifications. This is a regular-track exempt position with benefits. Benefits include stipend for
health insurance, holidays, vacation and personal leave.
