2016 PLAAY FlyerThe Alaska Sports Hall of Fame will present the first annual Positive Leadership for Active Alaskan Youth (PLAAY) Summit February 19th and 20th in Anchorage at the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium Building.
The PLAAY Summit will provide teachers, parents, nurses, coaches, administrators and other leaders of youth with a conference to address the multi-factorial areas of adolescent health. Experts from around the state will present on a variety of topics with emphasis on the importance of physical activity as a means to improve teenage health.
Registration is $150 for the two-day event, and $50 for University of Alaska Anchorage students.  Attendees may be eligible for Professional Development Credits or a Continuing Nursing Education Certificate.   Visit http://alaskasportshall.org/teach/plaay-summit/ to register or learn more.
Guest presenters include Dr. Robert Coker,  Dr. Ann Whitley, and  concussion expert Lynne Young among many others.  Other scheduled highlights of the summit include a keynote address by “Beyond the Bear” author Dan Bigley and a panel discussion with a slate of accomplished young Alaskan athletes.
